Set amidst 100 acres of the Balekhan Estate and surrounded by the amazing Kudremukh range is an experience waiting to be discovered! This outdoor program apart from adventure is also rooted in the Malnad culture and its people.

Learning Objectives:

   • Malnad Culture: History, People and Cuisine
   • Outdoor Learning:Treks, Treasure hunts in the estate. Rope Activities, camping and understanding nature.
   • Geography: Workshops on Tiger Conservation Project that involve plays, model making, map reading around the tiger.
   • Life Skills: Perseverance, teamwork and living together.
   • Herpetology: Learn about snakes and reptiles.

About the Farm:

The 100 year Halemane or Old house of the Pinto Family forms the hub of the campsite. Set in between 100 acres of Coffee and Araca Nut plantation, the home has been with the family for the last three generations. Fresh milk from Lakshmi the cow, Neer-Dosas cooked on firewood and wooden staircases running across the house, all form part of the Balekhan experience. With streams running on the estate, winding paths leading to the hills and inviting trails to be explored, the estate is a nature lovers dream.

Program Activities

  • ‘Farm Stay at the Estate, experience farm animals, flora and fauna and session of coffee cultivation

  • Experience Trekking in the wilderness, exciting rope activities such as Zip Line and Jummering

  • The energy packed Treasure Hunt through the Estate that is now legendary

  • A Session with Herpetologist - demonstration of different types of snakes and reptiles

  • Peek into Malnad culture and its people, through visit to a local school

  • Malnad cuisine: Experience cooking this lightly spiced, ever-so-slightly coco nuttyfood in a traditional kitchen

  • Ripples in the pond’: a journey of reflection and insight
